About Us

Pence Event Timing came about because we were involved parents with our children. When our oldest son was a Freshman in High School he went out for track. The first home meet we were very impressed that they had a photo finish camera at the finish line. However, the next home meet we were sitting there wondering why the camera wasn't setup yet, it was getting close to the start of the meet. Well, just about that time the coach came up to me and asked it I would help by running a stopwatch at the finish line!!! You can imagine my surprise that they were reverting to using stopwatches when they had the photo finish equipment. I asked the coach what happened to the camera and was told that there was only one person on campus that knew how to run it and he wasn't available that day!!! I told the coach that would not happen again, I would learn how to run it and would be available whenever the other guy wasn't.

Fast forward 14 years, our son is the Head Coach of that team and we have run the timing system for all the home meets and the League Championships.

We love running sports and love supporting the athletes in their endeavors to strive for the next level and give them the most accurate results possible.
